Where did you grow up?

I grew up all over the Southeast but mostly Boaz, and I attended BHS.

How long have you practiced medicine? Where?

I began my nursing career in 2003. I worked as a nurse in the NICU and was a part of the NICU transport team. In late 2010, I completed my MSN, and I certified as a PNP in 2011. I have been working as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner for the past 10 years in Marshall County.

What are your clinical interests?

Promoting wellness by disease prevention, care of children with asthma and allergies, and addressing the needs of children with chronic health conditions.

What sets your practice apart? What is your practice philosophy?

I believe having genuine care and compassion for a child and their family is so important. I strive to treat each child as I would like my own to be treated and to address all parental concerns in order to empower them to help their child reach optimum health and wellbeing.

What do you do when you aren't working? Hobbies, activities, special interests?

I enjoy spending time with my family (Husband: Sammy; Children: Katy Grace, 15; Elizabeth, 13; Samuel, 11), caring for farm animals, gardening, canning, and reading. In 2013, I felt the call to serve beyond my professional path & founded The Maker's Child. The ministry provides care for special needs children during worship services at several local churches. In 2014, we expanded to offer monthly respite care and a place for these special needs families to connect with other children, families, and volunteers. This program has been a joy and a blessing to my own family as well!

Do you follow any sports teams?

My children are all active in sports so following their teams is top priority, but I will always follow Alabama football. Roll Tide!
